Nikita: Season 2 Episode 3: Knightfall – TV Review

Nikita Knightfall TV Review kc 10 7 Nikita: Season 2 Episode 3: Knightfall â€

Friday’s episode of “Nikita“ is entitled “Knightfall” and in it, everyone has to face their demons. Nikita encounters someone from the past who shakes up her world and her latest mission puts Michael in a life or death situation. Alex also gets one step closer to her father’s killer, while Amanda continues to rope her into the Division fold.

Check out our review below…

 The Players
  • Director: Kenneth Fink
  • Writer: Juan Carlos Coto
  • Cast: Maggie Q, Shane West, Lyndsy Fonseca Aaron Stanford, Melinda Clarke, Xander Berkeley
Episode Title: “Knightfall”

When an international assassin named Ramon is revealed to be Division, Nikita and Michael set out to capture and take him to the authorities. The mission strikes a cord with Nikita, who previously encountered Ramon six years earlier and turned him over to Percy. Amanda hires Alex to kill the man who’s currently running her family business, which leads her one step closer to her father’s killer.

The Good:
  • Undercover Michael: We enjoyed seeing Michael fully undercover for a mission. His alias Mike Royce from CNN was his complete opposite. And we loved watching Nikita’s uncomfortable responses to him trying to charm another woman!
  • Percy’s Cold as Ice: Percy is one sick S.O.B. When Nikita turned Ramon over to Division she really screwed him over â€" big time. Percy forced him to become the face of their killing operation and paralyzed him to boot! He shot him in the spine and said, “Ramon will live on, he just won’t be able to walk. On the bright side, all of our facilities are handicap accessible.” Really Percy? That was cold, even for you!
  • Nikita vs Ramon: The confrontation scenes between these two were gold. Ramon kept Nikita on her toes and put her in her place about her ideologies. He also knew about her past and threw her full name, hometown and drug history in her face. Burn!
  • Unexpected Death: At the end of the episode, Amanda gave Nikita an ultimatum: kill Ramon or Michael dies. Nikita refused to compromise her principles and attempted to save Michael on her own. She was too late and Amanda ordered a drone to blow up the house. Nikita arrived just in time to see it go up and flames and at that moment we saw her have a partial meltdown. She was on the verge of tears before Michael emerged from the ashes unharmed. It was a sweet moment between these typically characters.
  • Batman Reference: The title of this week’s episode is “Knightfall,” which has an underlying connection to Batman. “Knightfall” is the name of an arc in the Batman comic book series, in which the superhero is paralyzed from the waist down by the villain Bane. Bane cracks Batman’s back, damages his spine and leaves him incapacitated for a very long time. If you remove the element of killing, Ramon and Bruce Wayne’s stories are eerily similar.
The Bad:
  • Alex’s mission: What was the point of building up Alex’s mission only to call it off? Alex was supposed to assassinate Zetrov head Anton Kochenko but because of NIkita’s interference, Division’s cover was blown and he couldn’t be killed. Amanda ordered Alex to abort the mission but it looked at if she still followed through. Did she or didn’t she? We’re ready to see Alex become a real badass who’s a formidable foe to Nikita. Enough with the dummy missions that go absolutely nowhere.
Overall:

This week’s episode of “Nikita” was a real heart-stopper. The storyline had everyone emotionally involved from Nikita and Michael to Alex and her obsession with her father’s killers. Even Birkhoff, got teary eyed when he thought Michael was a goner. It was a different look for everyone involved.

Rating: 9/10

“Nikita” airs Fridays at 8 p.m. on The CW
