Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn Interested in 'Anchorman 2' Return
Saturday, Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn headlined a press conference for their new film, The Watch. Itâs just the latest in a slew of movies they both star in. Back in 2004, they appeared in the comedy Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, and with its sequel on the way, we had to know: Will they return?
In Anchorman, Stiller and Vaughn played two distinct roles. Vaughn was Wes Mantooth, lead anchor of KQHS Channel 9 Evening News, aka Burgundyâs rival. While Stiller made a cameo appearance as Arturo Mendez, star of the local Spanish news team. Both actors were asked if theyâd be up for another go with Burgundy and company.
Stiller answered, âI would. Sure. I would show up for that.â Vaughn echoed his sentiment with a simple âYeah.â In the first film, Mantooth was a small supporting player, while Mendez was one of many anchors who participated in an infamous back alley brawl. If the sequel is brave enough to stage another epic fight, Stiller and Vaughn have already picked out their weapons of choice.
âIâd like that net,â revealed Stiller. âThey had that Planet of the Apes net.â The second time around, Vaughn would take a less physical approach. âThe tongue is mightier than the sword,â he said. Meaning, his words could do more damage than any knife or bat.
What do you think? Would you be interested in seeing them again?
