Lily Allen marries Sam Cooper & her pregnancy was confirmed
Here are some photos from Lily Allen’s wedding yesterday. The bride wore an enormous Delphine Manivet gown and a veil reminiscent of Princess Leia’s Star Wars hair. I rather like the top part of the gown - the lace is nice, and it flatters her upper half. But the bottom is hideous with that flare at the bottom. I guess there was a reason for the enormous gown - shortly after the ceremony, the wedding gown designer confirmed Lily’s pregnancy. Lily is probably really pissed about that. She hates when people talk about her bidness… until she doesn’t hate it. Anyway, Lily married her boyfriend of several years, Sam Cooper, and her pregnancy comes very soon after she lost her last pregnancy at six months, back in November. She had been engaged to Sam Cooper for a while, although she publicly fought anyone and everyone for talking about it.
Lily Allen has two things to smile about.
The singer, 26, married Sam Cooper at St. James the Great Church in Gloucestershire, England, on Saturday â€" and the newlyweds are expecting a baby, according to reports.
Dressed in a gown with long lace sleeves and a fishtail skirt by French designer Delphine Manivet, the bride was given away by her father, Keith Allen, and then carried a bouquet of white roses as she made her way out of the church with her new husband to a waiting car as a crowd cheered.
“It’s beautiful that she is pregnant, and I am very happy for her. She is very happy about that â€" it is something wonderful,†Manivet told British paper The Telegraph. “For me, and for her too, when you’re pregnant you want to show that, but also be respectful, so the dress was perfect for her for that moment.â€
Cooper revealed the happy baby news to wedding guests, according to the U.K.’s Daily Mail.
A rep for Allen could not be reached.
The baby news comes seven months after Allen and Cooper announced her heartbreaking miscarriage.
The wedding, which took place in the village of Cranham in the English countryside, was no secret. Allen’s wedding date was leaked to the press by an unknown guest, who sent the save-the-date card to British newspapers in March.
On Friday, Allen and Cooper were spotted arriving at the church for their rehearsal. Allen’s dad, an actor and musician, was also spotted with a ukulele â€" perhaps planning to serenade the happy couple.
Cooper, a decorator and business owner, popped the question during a romantic getaway last Christmas.

LA’s dress looks a little 1980 prom style but it suits her purpose, she’s so cute! I hope she stays well too.
OMG to the groomsmen in pink, do you think they will ever wear that outfit after the wedding?

Looks like somebody was channeling Kate middletons wedding dress. Incidentally I do hope this pregnancy is successful; a still born and a miscarriage is traumatic and absolutely torture to any woman.

Congrats to them! I truly hope she is able to carry her baby to term, and they are both healthy and happy.
FYI, People Magazine: When one loses a child at more than 3 months of pregnancy, that is NOT a miscarriage. That is the death of a baby in utero. (From one who’s been there.)
After what she’s been through with her pregnancies, it’s no wonder she wants to keep her news quiet. It’s devastating enough to go through in private.

WRT Lily Allen, I am so hoping that this pregnancy is successful. I think I’d be in an unholy state of terror if I were her, after the stillbirth and prior miscarriage. Fingers crossed for her.

Aww she looks so radiant!
I disagree on the veil/headpiece. It’s obvious that she’s going for a late Edwardian/1920s vibe. The groom’s three-piece suit is reminiscent of that era as well. I’d like the dress far more without that tier yoke around the hem. But yay for sleeves!

My great-grandmother had a dress like that when she got married in 1922. Her veil was nicer though, without those Leia-like earmuffs, and the dress didn’t have a V-neck. She was pregnant too.

The poor thing. I’m sure the last thing she wants is to have her pregnancy made public. She’s been through so much with that struggle…and I can’t imagine losing a baby at 6 months. I truly can’t.

I like the dress, mostly because it’s kind of retro and completely different. And what a shock, a bride who didn’t walk down the aisle with her rack hanging out.

I will add to the chorus of dress praise. I think she looks great and I love the retro flair. Not every bride in the world has to wear a skin tight strapless mermaid dress to look fashionable. Definitely not the cookie cutter bride look. Good for her.

I read in another publication that the groom announced the pregnancy at the wedding dinner, so I’m sure it was going to come out. Actually, the first time I saw pictures of her in the dress, I thought that she looked pregnant. I wish her all the best. Pregnancy loss is a curse I wouldn’t wish on any woman. My baby girl is light of my life after two years of loss.

The dress is not what I would wear, but it is not hideous, nor is it enormous. She looked very happy and is doing things her way. That’s what I would expect from Lily Allen. I really hope it all goes well with this pregnancy. As for her sister wearing that ‘boob’ dress. If one of my sisters had turned up at my wedding dressed like that, I would have been extremely faffed off. The bride should be the centre of attention, not her sister’s chest.
