Ever sit around and wonder what beloved pop culture nugget from your childhood will next be brutally exploited and destroyed by Hollywood, now that we’ve lost both Star Wars and Indiana Jones?  Well, according to The AV Club, it might just be Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, as a script entitled Ferris Bueller 2: Another Day Off is reportedly making the rounds in la la land.  Begin sighing now.

Written by Rick Rapier,  the script is now online (at least the first 12 pages, anyway), and, according to the AV Club:

“In it, modern-day Buellerâ€"with the help of right hand businessman Cameron Frye, natchâ€"has made a bunch of money as a professional motivator, and has a jet with a beret on the tail. Of course, all of this comes at a price, and Bueller laments his “golden handcuffs,” as well as his pesky stalker, one Mr. Ed Rooney.”

And now Rapier has taken to Twitter to document his screenplay’s reception:

“Wish I could tweet names of ppl reading my #FerrisBueller sequel. Your jaw would drop.”
