Photos: Meet the Characters of Cars 2
This summer, the highly anticipated sequel Cars 2 will hit the big screen, and it will feature the return of best buds Lightning McQueen and Mater. The duo will be joined by an international roster of characters that will include British, Italian, and Spanish vehicles. Out of this bunch of newbies, we like Ramone. He looks like an old school low rider from Los Angeles. We used to think Lightning had the sweetest design, but Ramone might be giving him a run for his money.
Star race car Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) and the incomparable tow truck Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) take their friendship to exciting new places in Cars 2 when they head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix to determine the world’s fastest car. But the road to the championship is filled with plenty of potholes, detours and hilarious surprises when Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage. Adding to the fast-paced fun is a colorful new all-car cast that includes secret agents, menacing villains and international racing competitors.
Cars 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on June 24, 2011 and it will be available in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D.
