Lady Gaga in Yuima Nakazato
Japan fashion mission, part 3 proves the fire is not always hot.
Many of you sent me your love messages about the metal body jewel Gaga rocked at the Music Station TV set.
The metal garment called âBlack Fire Dressâ was specially crafted for our girl by Japanese conceptual designer Yuima Nakazato, Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp graduate.
Yuima has developed what he calls the pop-up system in which elements of his clothing convert from two dimensional plains to three dimensional structures. If you didnât hear about his awards winning graduate collection âWooden Dimensionâ, visit his official site, youâll be amazed.
And while you are there, donât forget to see the prove I was talking about. Yuimaâs AW 2010 âCold Fireâ collection he presented back in March during the Paris Fashion Week.
The one of a kind piece Gaga wore was created using the same technique as his latest collection. Thin aluminium and fire. And 3 days of love and patience. Yuima melted cold metal using high temperature fire. The final result is black fire. Cold fire.
âBlack Fire Dressâ. Cold. But. Hot.
