HBO To Develop Dick Cheney Miniseries
Because that long-rumored Star Wars live-action TV show that George Lucas mutters about every once and awhile probably wonât feature much Emperor Palpatine/ Darth Sidius, HBO is working to fill that void of unimaginable horror and universe-spanning darkness by offering up a miniseries about Dick Cheney.
According to Deadline:
âHBO has optioned the book Angler: The Cheney Vice Presidency by Pulitzer-Prize winning journalist Barton Gellman for a miniseries to be executive produced by Paula Weinstein.â
Now, please excuse any typosâ"Iâm typing this quickly before any commandos start rappelling down into my windows, dressed in black with giant red âD.C.â logos printed in their backs within the outline of a sneering bald head.
âThe mini, which will be based on the bestselling book and the Frontline documentary The Dark Side, tells the story of Richard Bruce Cheney from his early days as Donald Rumsfeldâs protégé in the Nixon administration, to the nationâs youngest Chief of Staff under President Ford, to serving as Secretary of Defense under George H.W. Bush, through two controversial terms as Vice President under President George W. Bush.â
The thrust of the miniseries will be focused around âCheneyâs single-minded pursuit of enhanced  power for the Presidency (that) was unprecedented in the nationâs history.â
This should be interesting.
What do you think about a Dick Cheney miniseries?
