Did Tom Cruise & Nicole Kidman refuse to speak to each other at a Globes party?
While I want to believe Page Six’s Christina Hendricks story with every fiber of my being, I’m kind of thinking that Page Six is pulling this Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman story out of their ass. According to sources, at the post-Globes CAA party, Tom and Nicole totally avoided each other like they were in friggin’ high school. Ugh.
Tom Cruise and ex-wife Nicole Kidman kept a safe distance from each other as they partied at the same Golden Globes bash. Cruise and wife Katie Holmes attended the Creative Artists Agency party at the Sunset Tower Hotel following the awards. Meanwhile, Kidman, who divorced Cruise in 2001, was across the intimate room with husband Keith Urban.
A spy said, “There was no drama, but nobody saw them have a conversation, either. Tom and Nicole stayed apart all night, but they must have seen each other. Everybody was mingling, but they kept their distance.â€
Security was so tight that many CAA clients weren’t allowed in â€" even director David O. Russell had to wait in his car after being told he wasn’t on the list. Those who got in included Robert De Niro, Jane Fonda, Christina Aguilera, Anne Hathaway, Julianne Moore, Scarlett Johansson, Halle Berry, Oliver Stone, John Legend, Demi Moore and Jake Gyllenhaal.

I doubt this just because I doubt Tom Cruise was in town for the Globes - I think he’s still filming Mission Impossible in Canada, last I heard. Considering he wasn’t nominated for anything and he didn’t present anything at the Globes, why would he fly into LA just for a CAA party? But I do believe that Nicole and Keith were at the CAA party - just the ticket after a three-hour awards ceremony. You want to kick back and schmooze and have a few drinks and not be with your three-week-old newborn baby. Look, I get why Nicole went - she was nominated, after all. But Keith just had to come with her? Why? Because his job is holding her hand in front of cameras, not bonding with their new baby that they just had to have and announce conveniently before the Oscar nominations.
UPDATE: Okay, I’ve just been told that Tom was in town and was at the CAA party. Guess this story is pretty true, and Tom and Nicole really can’t even say hello to each other. Gawd.
In other “awkward, CAA†news, Life & Style is reporting that Scarlett Johansson and Sandra Bullock ran into each other at the same CAA party. Ooh, they got a confirmation from Bullock’s rep too:
As if wearing strikingly similar gowns to the Golden Globes weren’t awkward enough, Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Johansson came face-to-face for the first time since Sandra’s very public New Year’s Eve date with Scarlett’s soon-to-be-ex Ryan Reynolds. Sandra’s rep confirms to Life & Style that the ladies saw each other at a CAA-sponsored award show after party on Jan. 16 in LA.
The last time Scarlett and Sandra were spotted sharing the red carpet was at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, where they shared a jaw-dropping kiss on stage. But that was before they shared a man.
“Scarlett and Sandra had dinner,†an insider tells Life & Style of the actresses’ run-in on Jan. 16. “They’ve always gotten along so Sandra explained exactly how she felt about the whole Ryan situation. She didn’t want anything to get in the way of their friendship. There is no awkwardness between Sandra and Scarlett.â€

I saw video footage of Cruise and Holmes walking into the CAA party, so for whatever reason they were in fact there.

Tom was indeed in L.A. over the weekend and was spotted at some parties with Katie. Most movie sets close down on the days of awards shows. Not to mention the fact that it was Tom and Nicole’s son’s birthday yesterday, so he was probably in town for that.
Having said that, this story seems exaggerated. They probably didn’t talk, but they probably weren’t purposely “ignoring†each other. They’ve been divorced for 10 years. Their children are pretty much grown. What’s there to talk about?

It’s interesting that a picture of Sandra Bullock was included in this post, where you’re again bashing Nicole and Keith for taking a few hours away from their baby, since Sandra and her then-husband did the same thing. No one found that horrifying.
And maybe you’re not a parent, so you don’t realize this, but it’s perfectly normal for parents of newborns to take a few hours away from the baby. It’s important for parents to still have some alone time as a couple, and to focus on things other than just the baby. The only couples I know who never took any time away from their babies at this point were people who have no family around and/or can’t afford a babysitter.
Also, three-week-olds spend most of their time sleeping. I doubt that Faith was even aware that her parents were gone.

I don’t buy this b/c of the detail that David O. Russell wasn’t on the list. He was nominated for directing The Fighter & he wasn’t on the guest list? So I don’t believe Cruise was even there. That said, if he was there, I totally believe they’d avoid each other. That’s some serious bad blood there.

Yes, SB did the exact same thing last year (as I mentioned in another comment on a previous story), yet she wasn’t vilified. Whatever. As I also mentioned, I like all 3 of them; don’t judge any of them; and I’m a parent, as well.
I totally buy that NK wouldn’t speak to TC: he’s brainwashed their mutual children into becoming involved in his pseudo “religion;†and I would be shocked to learn there WASN’T something in their divorce “agreement†that the kids had to be raised as Scientologists, at least until the age where they could “decide†for themselves to follow Scientology. Remember, TC was the bigger star when all this shite went down, and I doubt NC had much leverage, especially considering his financial power v. hers at the time.

I don’t have children (yet), but I have a ton od nieces and nephews. Nothing wrong with parents taking a night off. I used to help my sister watch her newborn daughter all the time when she went back to work. All my baby niece did was poop and sleep. Wasn’t a big deal.

ditto for the ‘omg! they went out w/o the baby!’ comment. Who cares? This is not gossip, and in fact it certainly is not neglecting their child.
Geesh-many of us who are parents, also know that 3 weeks is about the mark when family comes to town and/or offers to watch the baby so you can get some time out….i’m glad they announced it now, instead of earlier-precisely so they would not be bombarded right away w/paps, stories, etc.
Plus, it’s now in the middle of the awards hoopla-which hopefully makes their baby less of a news story-which I’m sure they planned, for this reason alone I’d buy it….

Yeah, I won’t bash her for going out. I’m a mom and a few hours away does not hurt the baby and moms need a break.
As for the rest, it’s probably bs, but I don’t blame her for not talking to him, if it is true. I think Tom and his insane ‘church’ are the reason for the separation between Nicole and her kids. Unforgiveable and disgusting.

Fine. It’s ALL perfectly normal. It’s all perfectly fine to pay some huge amount so that someone can carry this baby that you need so, so much, and then when the baby is born, you and your husband spend an entire weekend partying and attending events. Not just going to the Globes, but to the Critics Choice, and the all of the after-parties. That’s what ALWAYS strikes me about Nicole Kidman. How normal she is. Just a normal mother of two. Because she consistently forgets about her first two children. Because she’s so normal.

Nicole and Keith seem like to be involved and loving parents with Sunday. I mean, as much as one can tell from photos, etc. I think it’s ridiculous to be criticizing them for taking one weekend away to attend the GOlden Globes. Nicole may have been contractually obligated to attend due to promo work for Rabbit Hole. She may have attended because it’s her CAREER and she has worked hard to achieve the level of success she is at. Moms who work sometimes have to work (shocker). I doubt a 3 week old baby suffered much from having her parents away for one weekend. I’m sure it was difficult for Nicole and Keith to be away from the new baby.

As for the whole surrogacy…I missed yesterday’s post…holy crap!!!!!! That is just crazy. Good for them. And I’m not gonna hate on her for taking some time out for herself and Keith…I’m turning 30 2 weeks after this next baby is born. And I will be seen “out†in some capacity.
I also think that Sandy and ScarJo are absolutely fine with eachother, and would never bicker over a boob like Ryan.

If she weren’t nominated and was just going to party, that would be one thing, but she WAS nominated, her career could use the boost, and I don’t see a problem with them having a night out here and there.
Maybe when they planned the surrogacy, she didn’t expect to be nominated/attending award shows? Who knows. Also don’t get the negativity towards her using a surrogate, we don’t know their personal/medical reasons, nor should we.
Also not surprised she and Tom didn’t talk, it didn’t exactly end well and I’m in the camp that he and his “church†are what have separated Nicole and the older children, if she was ever allowed to be a parent to them at all. The Oscar nominations will be announced on January 25th but the voters ballots were due on January 14th. So your nasty insinuation is absolutely ridiculous. The one who announced her pregnancy right on time for the Oscars is Natalie Portman, not Nicole. And I don’t see anything wrong with them going out for 3 or 4 hours. Sandra Bullock did the same thing last year, going to EVERY award/Hollywood ceremonies while she had a few weeks-old baby at home. No one criticized her. The constant hatred towards Nicole Kidman from gossip sites like this one is becoming highly annoying.

@K: Your comment makes no sense. If Nicole had given birth then going out for the evening would not have given her a break from the physical recover process. She would still only be getting a break from the babycare aspect of things.
And I didn’t give birth to any of my children, does that mean that I don’t get to take a break from parenting now and then? I guess only those who have given birth have a right to get tired, or need a break, or be overwhelmed and need a chance to recharge for a few hours.

I havent talked to my x-wife since 2003.True we didnt have any kids but if i saw her at a party i would go out of my way to avoid talking to her….bitch!
